Dog Teaching
Hey!
Welcome to
DogTeaching.com. Whether you have a new puppy that hasn’t
yet been trained, or a mature dog that needs some obedience
direction, I'm here to help
you.
Not only can your dog
become trained to willingly behave, but you as your dog’s
owner will be trained to respond correctly to your dog’s
needs and personality.
A
friendship between an owner and his dog isn’t
one-sided.
It’s not you as the owner giving constant
commands to your dog so he becomes a robot to your every
whim.
Oh sure, your dog may obey for the moment,
but because the motive will be based on fear, no bond of
trust or respect is developed.
True dog Teaching is
directing and guiding, along with earned praise that causes
your dog to respond willingly for the sheer pleasure of
pleasing you.
By teaching him through kindness and
genuine caring, but leading with firm handling, your dog
will learn to trust you as his leader and be anxious to
obey.
All
breeds have their own unique characteristics such as size
differences, nutritional needs, space requirements, coats,
and temperaments.
Then, within their breed, each individual
dog has his own personality, intelligence, fears, strengths,
and weaknesses.
So really knowing your individual dog
takes an honest and continuous effort on your
part.
This website is designed to help you the
dog owner focus in on the needs of your individual dog so
both of you can live together in harmony and enjoy each
other’s company.
Most
dogs have some form of dog behavior problems, but each
of them can be overcome by a dog owner who cares enough to
learn how to rise above them.
More often than not, the problem isn’t
that the dog is being defiant.
The problem is that he doesn’t understand
what’s expected of him.
Once his owner learns how to clearly
convey that to him, he could be the most amazing dog his
owner could ever ask
for.
Let
me illustrate.
The owner is teaching his dog to
“stay”.
He has his dog sit and he gives the
command “stay”.
His dog stays.
The owner turns his back and his dog
begins to follow him.
The owner returns his dog to the same
spot, pets him, and repeats “stay”.
To the owner, it may seem as though he’s
doing everything correct when, in actuality, he’s giving
conflicting messages to his dog.
The owner needs to see it as his dog
does.
When the owner turns his back, his dog
fears he’s being abandoned and simply wants to be close to
his owner.
Then too, when the dog is returned to the
same spot, the owner pets him before giving the “stay”
command again.
Now the dog is completely confused because
he’s just been rewarded for leaving the spot even though he
was returned to it.
It’s these types of things I intend to
address so you can learn and strive for the best possible
friendship you and your dog can
have.
As I
build my website, I’m targeting all areas of the dog/owner
relationship including obedience training such as sit, stay,
down, come, etc; dog behavior problems like
biting, house training, barking, chewing, bolting, etc;
nutritional needs of individual breeds as they are relevant;
and I’ll ask for input from readers to figure
out what types of things you would like to
learn about and will try my best to teach
them.
Essentially, my purpose on this website is
teaching dogs and owners
how to understand each other. In so doing, you’ll be better equipped to
have the kind of trusting and respectful relationship that
both of you can be thankful for. So join me and my team, and take a moment
to leave your questions and comments. We welcome
them.

Overall Secrets to Dog Training – Stop your
Dog’s Behavior
Problems! Average User Rating:
Several of the training techniques present a
refreshingly common-sense, down-to-earth
approach to dog training; others require a
little more effort (take dog whispering as an
example) but yield some pretty dramatic
results. I liked the way that more than one
training technique is detailed, to allow the
reader to pick and choose the techniques that
best suit themselves and their individual
dogs.
I have no qualms in recommending this package
to anyone who owns, or is thinking about owning
a dog. You don’t need to have a “problem pet”
for the manual to be of assistance: there’s
information included that’ll be useful to any
and all dog owners.
In a nutshell: highly recommended.
